Why Is It...

...that Germany has the most interesting cannibalism cases? First there was the man who recruited his own enthusiastic murder victim, and now this unique take on a grandmother's recipe.

Somehow, I think this impulse came from the same bizarre lust for experimentation that leads young men to light farts.

Taking a historic view, one can see this type of *ahem* interest in cookery as far back as the Germanic tribes during the time of the Romans. Not that all the other races were exemplary or anything, it just seems that that part of the continent breeds a special type of curiosity crossed with disregard for human life...

That's probably true, though as cannibalism goes, this was fairly humane.

I wonder what the guy who saw that inquiring e-mail said at the time...
